Skilled Occupation List Currently Unchanged - July 2018
25 Jul 2018
An annual trend that is recognised by prospective Australian migrants and Registered Migration agents alike is that the Department of Home Affairs will make an update to the occupations on the skilled lists in July. Whilst over the last couple of years we have been able to announce these in May & June respectively, this year we are yet to receive word of this occurring. This means that as things stand the occupations on the Medium & Long-term Strategic Skills List (MLTSSL) and Short-term Skilled Occupation List (STSOL) remain unchanged. There has been no communication from the department as to when this might happen, nor a definitive update as to which occupations will be added to, or removed from, each respective list.
The most recent amendments that occured to the skilled lists took place in March this year, whilst previous communication from the Department of Home Affairs lead to suggest that occupation lists may start to see an overhaul on a six-monthly basis. This could indicate that we won't see the changes occuring until September time, but similarly we wouldn't advise anybody to try and second-guess the moves that will be made regarding Australian Immigration!
We will provide an update as soon as possible, but in the meantime to keep in touch with any amendments being made, or to look into kickstarting a visa application and reduce the risk of potential disappointment, please don't hesitate to contact us.
